June 9th, Derek Grantonic, owner of Unsanctioned Pro made the following announcement.
“Story time! We lost our original ring rental. Stuff happens, trailers are expensive. We got another ring but guardrails are hard to find for anything less than a limb or organ. So! As discussed earlier via hilarious meme, you should #payattention at the show. Everyone involved are trained professionals (except me ??♂️) but thing will spill outside the ring at points. If it looks like something is coming towards you, be aware, and moooooooove.”
The post came along with a meme that said “Whoops. We lost thee guardrails. #PayAttention”
Something told me this was going to be really wild. Nothing prepared me for how wildly entertaining Unsanctioned Pro’s first event turned out to be. Even with the main event being a lego deathmatch, I still had no idea.
The roster is AMAZING. These guys are not only entertaining in the ring, they’re entertaining outside the ring. There were so many amazing moments! Some of my favorites are:
- Kody Rice suicide diving to the outside, taking out everyone during the Unsanctioned Scramble. There was a leg on someone sitting in the front row!
- Kody and Alverado took some time out of the match to come over and talk to MY MOM which was hilarious. They asked her if she was enjoying the show and then said they had things to tend to in the ring and went back at it.
- SHLAK yelling at people to get out of the way and then throwing Devon Moore into the first and second row of chairs less than a minute into a street fight.
- Space Monkey being tossed bananas that the crowd brought in and eating them during his match.
- EVERYTHING about the lego deathmatch. Two guys were wrestling on legos!
The fans were into it, chanting and cheering and loving every minute of it. I was into it doing the same. EVEN MY MOM WAS and yes that deserved caps. My mom is not a wrestling fan at all. When dad and I would watch WWE she’d ignore it. She did NOT ignore any of this. It was truly a magic night. Unsanctioned Pro has something special going on and if you love wrestling, you should check it out!
