I had never heard of Ultra Sunn before, but I checked them out, loved what I heard and made my way out to the Ace of Cups.
I was absolutely blown away by this show.
First off, we had Columbus’ own Bloodstoned. This duo is new to me, and I hope I see more from them in the future. They describe themselves as a death pact duo and I have to say their set was hard and heavy. I think it was the perfect start to this show.
Traitrs from Toronto, Canada took the stage next. I feel like if you like “The Cult”, you’ll like Traitrs. They put on a high energy show that was fun, vibey and had everyone moving. I’m keeping an eye on them for sure!
Finally Ultra Sunn took the stage! The whole crowd was enthralled! I don’t think there was a single person not moving in the club. We vibed, we danced and we sang along as Ultra Sunn played songs off their new album “The Beast In You”. They also played favorites from past albums such as “Can You Believe It”. The strobes were flashing, the fog machine was doing its thing. It was a whole big vibe.
All in all, the night was a super positive vibe. I loved it and to top it off I found three new bands I like. That’s always a good thing in my book. I hope to see all of them again at future shows.
